Obituary for Jane T. Liscomb
Ellsworth/Northeast Harbor
Jane T. Liscomb, 97, passed away June 12, 2019 in a Bangor Hospital. She was born in Watertown, CT, March 15, 1922 the daughter of Harold E. and Ada (Lewis) Thompson.
Jane was a graduate of St. Margaret’s School, Waterbury, CT, attended Harcum Jr. College, Bryn Mawr, PA and graduated from Post Business College, Waterbury, CT. While living in CT, she worked for Aetna Life Insurance Co., West Hartford Board of Education and West Hartford CT Trust Company. She married Adelbert H. Liscomb and moved to Seal Harbor in 1953 where she raised her family and later moved to Northeast Harbor in 1964. With her secretarial background, she held various positions throughout her lifetime in Maine including the Supt. of Schools Office, Ellsworth and St. Mary’s By The Sea Episcopal Church. She was a member of St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church. Jane was especially fond of the outdoors, loved the beach and animals.
She is survived by children, Richard B. Liscomb and wife Kathi of Pittston, Margaret (Maggie) and husband Martin Taylor of Trenton and Julie L. Watson and partner Thomas Davis of Trenton; grandchildren, Whitney and Logan Watson, Jessica Butler, Brian Liscomb and Jennifer Hall; six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 23, 2019 at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, 134 State St., Ellsworth.
